Travelling to Maynooth by Car

From Belfast
- Leave Belfast in the direction of Dublin on the A1. Continue on the to the M1 (signposted M1 Dublin).
- Continue through the toll plaza at Drogheda.
- Leave the M1 at junction 3, then at roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the M50 (signposted M50 Southbound)
- Pass through the West Link Bridge (Toll) and leave the M50 at the next exit, junction 7 (signposted Dublin, Sligo N4), then at roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the N4 (signposted The West).
- Continue forward onto the Motorway M4
- Leave motorway (signposted Straffan, Naas, Maynooth), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Straffan Road - R406 (signposted Maynooth)
- Continue forward onto Straffan Road - R406. Enter Maynooth
- Turn left onto Main Street - R148.
- South campus: Go straight ahead at the traffic lights at the Roost. The University gates are straight ahead.

From Cork
- Leave Cork on the N8 (signposted Dublin).
- Continue on the N8 through Abbeyleix and then take the 4th exit off the roundabout to join the M7 motorway (signposted Dublin).
- Continue on the N7 to the Red Cow Roundabout follow signs to join the M50 North.
- Leave the M50 at junction 7 (signposted Dublin, Sligo N4), then at roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the N4 (signposted The West).
- Continue forward onto the Motorway M4
- Leave motorway (signposted Straffan, Naas, Maynooth), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Straffan Road - R406 (signposted Maynooth)
- Continue forward onto Straffan Road - R406. Enter Maynooth
- Turn left onto Main Street - R148.
- South campus: Go straight ahead at the traffic lights at the Roost. The University gates are straight ahead.

From Dublin
- Leave Dublin city centre, going west on the Lucan Bypass, and take the N4, (signposted The West).
- Continue straight on to the M4. Leave motorway on the exit signposted Straffan, Naas, Maynooth, then at the roundabout take the 3rd exit: Road - R406 (signposted Maynooth).
- Continue straight to Maynooth village. At the traffic lights in the square turn left onto the R148 (signposted Dublin .
- Go straight ahead at the traffic lights at the Roost. The University gates are straight ahead.

From Galway
- Leave Galway on the N6 (signposted Dublin)
- Continue on the M6
- After the toll plaza continue to join the N4 (signposted Dublin)
- Continue forward to the M4
- Leave the M4 (signposted Straffan, Naas, Maynooth), then turn left onto Straffan Road - R406 (signposted Maynooth)
- Continue forward onto Straffan Road - R406. Enter Maynooth
- At the traffic lights in the square turn left onto the R148.
- South campus: Go straight ahead at the traffic lights at the Roost. The University gates are straight ahead.

From Limerick
- Take the N7 (signposted Dublin) from Limerick and continue on to the M7. Continue in the direction of Dublin as the road progresses again into the N7 and then the M7.
- Continue on the N7 to the Red Cow Roundabout follow signs to join the M50 North.
