Our 40th Anniversay Summer School takes place in St Patrick's College, Maynooth from Monday, 6th to Friday 10th July 2009.This year's Guest Director will be Kevin O'Carroll, son of composer and founder-member Fintan O'Carroll.

ICMA Annual General Meeting

Please note that the ICMA Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 8th July 2009 at 7.30pm in Upper Loftus and not on Tuesday as previously advised.

Changes in Meal Arrangements for Summer School 2009.

There are some changes to this year's Summer School meal arrangements. Instead of Breakfast, Dinner and Evening Meal, as was the case up to now, this year we will have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Lunch will consist of Soup and a good variety of quality Sandwiches served with Tea and Coffee. There will also be fruit platters as a dessert. Dinner (in the evening) will be a three course meal (Starter, Main Course, Dessert served with Tea and Coffee).

This change ensures that the cost of Catering is kept as low as possible, and is the only way that the Maynooth catering staff are able to cater for an influx of Day Visitors at short notice.

Reminder: As accommodation in St Patrick's College is very limited, the Council of the ICMA recommends the Apartment Accommodation provided by NUI Maynooth through the Maynooth Conference Centre. Each apartment has 5 bedrooms and a communal area so why not get together with a few friends and have a great week in Maynooth!

Fauré Requiem

Kevin has asked that we perform Faure’s Requiem on the Thursday evening during the Summer School, complete
with brass. It will be a communal effort so dust off those scores!

Christmas Carols at the Summer School

Since the Summer School takes place in July, it seems a shame that we never get a chance to share in the wonderful arrangements of the popular Christmas Carols. So we have decided to make the Tuesday night in July: Christmas Carol Night!!! It will involve massed choirs, glorious harmonies, descants and might give us more ideas for the real Festive Season...
